pigeons in the pie

My mother-in-law sent me a nice email, but I’m in a bad mood. I probably won’t answer it until later when I’m less grouchy. I’m mainly annoyed because she’s wanting to come visit Japan in September, only a few weeks after the baby is born. My dilemma is…I want my own mother and father to meet my baby first. Maybe I’m being unreasonable. I have little attachment to my mother-in-law, so it would just feel like introducing somewhat of a stranger as I’ve only met her in person about four times. Besides, she endlessly makes promises or ‘plans’ and never acts on them. I’m still waiting for a box of cravings that she was going to send me back in December. At this rate, I’ll have the baby and then receive a box of snacks that are expired.
